We are planning a Restaurant Week for Downtown Somerville this Saturday, September 20th – Saturday, September 27th .
The plan is for restaurants to highlight their best dishes and offer them in a discounted fixed menu during these 8 days.
This will be an opportunity to bring new customers to Somerville. With enough participation, we can create a little buzz, and have a week of increased foot traffic (if not more), increased sales, and a larger clientele.
Restaurant Week has been scheduled to begin on Somerville Sampler Day on Saturday, September 20th. This year the Sampler Day will continue to 7:00 p.m. and have live music throughout the downtown until at least 7:00 p.m. The restaurant tastings will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Restaurant owners are encouraged to participate and can select the time period (2-3 pm, 3-4 pm or 2-4 pm) and fee (free, $1, or $2) for the tastings (see attached sheet). This will be a great time for restaurants to promote Restaurant Week.
To make it simple, we have set two price points for a three-course Prix Fixe Dinner during Restaurant Week, $25 and $35. Select one price point for your restaurant to be listed. The price excludes beverages, tax and gratuities.
Restaurant Week will be promoted by the Somerville DMC with print advertising, signage, and internet marketing. Each restaurant is requested to post their Restaurant Week promotion on their website and to their current patrons on mailing lists and in their restaurants.
